Hello,

My name is Jonathan H. Do, DDS, and I am a Board-Certified Periodontist. I am a specialist in treating gum/periodontal diseases to save teeth, minimally invasive periodontal and plastic surgeries, soft tissue grafts, tissue regeneration around teeth and dental implants, tooth extraction and surgical placement of dental implants. I have developed and published in peer-reviewed journals minimally invasive surgical techniques on soft tissue augmentation, and same day replacement of hopeless front teeth with immediate dental implants.

My practice is oriented towards prevention and patient education. My goal for all patients is that once their treatments are completed, their mouths will be healthy and free of dental diseases for the rest of their lives. They will never need any more dental treatment besides periodic check-up and maintenance! To achieve this goal, I spend a tremendous amount of time educating patients not only on the problems they have, but also how they can effectively keep their mouths clean and healthy. On my end, I provide the most advanced and scientifically sound, thorough, meticulous, and definitive treatments personalized to each patient’s needs. I only see one patient at a time, and I render all the treatments.

If you have a gum disease, gum recession, losing/missing teeth or simply want to improve your oral health and would like to receive quality care, I may be able to help. Please call, text or email me to schedule a consultation. A referral is not required to see me.

About me

I grew up in Southern California, and attended UCLA for college, dental school, and two postgraduate training programs including the prestigious UCLA Periodontics Residency. The highly coveted UCLA Periodontics Residency is a 3-year, full-time specialty-training program that only accepted two residents each year. Upon graduation from the UCLA Periodontics Residency in 2013, I was recruited to join the faculty in Periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry to teach dental students and residents full-time.

As much as I love teaching, clinical periodontics and patient care are my passions. In 2015, I started a practice limited to periodontics and implant therapy in Poway with the mission of helping patients to keep their teeth healthy and functional for the rest of their lives through patient education, prevention and quality care.

I remain dedicated to education and community service. I continue to author peer-reviewed scientific publications in the field of periodontics and implant dentistry, and give lectures and hands-on continuing education courses at UCLA, in the US, and around the world. I am co-chair of the San Diego County Dental Society Continuing Education Committee helping to organize quality continuing education courses for my colleagues.

Outside of dentistry, I enjoy nature, photography, traveling, and eating. I am a die-hard UCLA Bruin, and a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and all things made of shell cordovan. I like to support local businesses and buy Made in USA products. Spending time with my wife and two daughters is my favorite pastime.
